It's not essential to know the Japanese names for the techniques, as all instruction is given in English. The Japanese names are only referenced for interest and as part of Dojo etiquette.
Uchi - Strikes (with Hand open or closed)
Uraken-uchi - back fist strike
Tesui-uchi - hammer fist strike
Teisho-uchi - palm heel strike
Kokuto-uchi - bent-wrist strike
Shuto-uchi - knife hand strike
Haito-uchi - ridge hand strike
Nukite-uchi - 4 finger spear hand thrust
Empi-uchi - elbow strike
Zuki - Punch (closed hand)
Oi-zuki - lunge punch
Gyaku-zuki - reverse punch
Tobikomi-zuki - snap punch
Mawashi-zuki - roundhouse punch
Kage-zuki - sideways hook punch
Ura-zuki - inverted close punch
Choku-zuki - straight punch
Jun-zuki - front hand punch
Tate-zuki - vertical fist punch
Geri = Kick
Mae-geri - front (snap) kick
Yoko-geri - side kick
Mawashi-geri - roundhouse kick
